U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehended an Indian national who tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
The man was picked up near Calexico last Thursday along with three Mexican nationals. The three men from Mexico were rapidly returned to Mexico and the Indian national was taken to a Border Patrol facility for processing where the man was evaluated by medical personnel and found to be displaying flu-like symptoms. He was placed in quarantine and then tested for COVID-19. The test was positive. Federal agents are now trying to trace back with anyone with whom he may have come in contact. Mexican authorities were notified of the incident.
