(Shelter in Place)…A new IID program.
It is designed to keep employees safe and support operations. To help keep workers who are responsible for critical operations safe from COVID 19 and to ensure that its water and energy delivery systems remain operational, Imperial Irrigation District will begin implementing a voluntary on-site shelter in place program at designated critical facilities for a core group of employees. 32 employees have volunteered for the on-site sequestration program, which begins this Saturday, and last for a minimum of 3 weeks. Depending on the operational needs of the District and the conditions related to the virus, it could be extended. IID General Manager Henry Martinez says the program will mitigate employee’s exposure and assist in ensuring the continuity of services to all IID customers. The volunteers will work 12 hour shifts, remaining at the designated worksites 24 hours a day for the duration of the program.
