Imperial County Public Health officials have reported eight new positive COVID-19 cases.
These eight new cases brings the total number of positive cases in Imperial County to 17. According to a Health Department press release , of the eight new cases , five are recovering at home and three are hospitalized. There have been 114 negative test results reported.
Dr. Stephan Munday , Imperial County Health Officer said , " We know that we will continue to see positive cases in our community. As our County's capacity to provide more testing increases , so will our ability to identify new cases. We remain at a critical point and strongly urge the public to support ongoing efforts that will mitigate the spread COVID-19 , reduce the number of families impacted , and protect our healthcare professionals".
The public is reminded to continue practice the following:
Stay at home and do not leave except for essential activities.
Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or your arm.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
Maintain a safe social distance of 6 feet from others that are not in your immediate household.
