(Two previously convicted sex offenders)…They were arrested in separate incidents.
The first occurred in the early morning hours Saturday. Border Patrol agents encountered a man suspected of illegally entering the country about 20 miles west of the Calexico Downtown Port of Entry. During an immigration and criminal screening, it was determined the man was 43 year old Julio Cesar Ramirez Montecitos, a Guatemalan National. In 2017 he had been convicted of sexual abuse of a minor in Alaska. He was sentenced to 2 years confinement and 5 years probation. He was deported in 2019. The 2nd incident occurred at just before noon the same day. This man was found about 3 miles west of Downtown Calexico. A records check revealed the man’s identity as 36 year old Orlando Ramirez Contreras, a Mexican National. He had been convicted of sexual abuse against a minor in San Bernardino in 2006. He served a year in jail, with 36 months probation. He was deported in 2006. Both men were placed in Federal custody pending further criminal prosecution.
