(Veterans Day in Imperial County)….Ceremonies were held around the county
. The biggest and longest celebration was in Holtville. The 6th annual Veteran’s Day Parade was the main attraction. The hour long event included several entries. The Grand Marshall was 96 year old World War 2 veteran Omar Moreno. The annual event is hosted by the Holtville American Legion Post, the City of Holtville and the Holtville Chamber of Commerce. The Parade was preceded by a free breakfast for veterans at the American Legion Post and followed by the Holtville Farmers Market and Street Fair at Holt Park, featuring live music, several vendor booths, and other family entertainment. In all, activities began at 7:00 Monday morning and ended at around 2:00 in the afternoon.
