(November is National Diabetes Awareness Month)…El Centro Regional Medical Center is participating locally.
ECRMC is helping raise awareness about diabetes and healthy lifestyle choices. Hospital officials say Diabetes is one of the leading causes of disability and death in the United States. Current statistics indicate 30 million American adults live with diabetes, another 84 million are at risk of developing type 2 diabetes and 90 percent don’t even know it. For those unaware of their risk for diabetes, the first step is to get their blood glucose tested and have a conversation with a healthcare professional. ECRMC will be offering a free diabetes prevention screening on Tuesday November 12th. It will be held at the Hospital on Ross Avenue from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.
