The National Weather Service has expanded an Excessive Heat Warning for the Imperial , Yuma and Mexicali Valleys.

Effective from 11:00 a.m. Tuesday  through 8:00 p.m. Wednesday , the Excessive Heat Warning says we can expect temperatures to reach near 113 on Tuesday and 115 on Wednesday before dropping to around 111 on Thursday. The heat will also bring some humidity with a chance of showers by the weekend. An Excessive Heat Warning means that a period of very hot weather , even by local standards , will occur. Actions should be taken to lessen the impact of the extreme heat.
