(Be prepared)…It is going to get hot.

The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch for Tuesday through Thursday. The excessive heat watch is for the Imperial, Mexicali and Yuma Valleys. The Weather Service says temperatures will range between 110 to 115 degrees all three days. It is recommended that residents know where the Cool Centers are located. A list of Cool Centers is available on the Imperial Irrigation District, County and Local Public Health websites. It is highly recommended that residents stay indoors in an air conditioned building as much as possible through Thursday. If you must go outdoors, be sure to drink plenty of liquids, avoiding caffeine and alcohol. Wear light, loose fitting clothes, a wide brimmed hat, and never, ever leave a child, elder adult or pet inside a vehicle during any amount of time.
