(A small earthquake)…Very small.
It was felt by some people, but most people did not know it happened. It was a micro-quake, magnitude 2.0 on the Richter scale. The US Geological Survey recorded the small temblor at 3:30 Wednesday morning. It was centered about 5 miles South/Southeast of Brawley, or six miles Northeast of Imperial. The USGS says few feel a micro-quake, and they seldom cause any damage. A micro-quake is any earthquake smaller than a magnitude 3. Several micro-quakes are recorded in and around Imperial County every day.
