How do you steal an ATM machine?

First , you steal a U-Haul truck. Second , crash the stolen truck through the front window of a business housing the ATM. Third , load the ATM in the back of the truck. Fourth , force open the ATM at a sight a mile or so away from the store. Fifth , take the cash and abandon the truck. Essentially that what happened early Sunday morning in El Centro. ECPD officers were dispatched to an alarm activation at a store in the 600 block of Wake Avenue at about 3:15 a.m. Sunday. Officers were on the scene within a minute of the call. They found the front window of the market had been smashed and then determined that an ATM machine was dragged out of the store. At about 10:00 a.m. that morning , police were notified that a U-Haul truck had been stolen . Two suspects were seen stealing the keys for the truck from a lock box at the U-Haul store. The suspects apparently then drove the stolen truck to the business on Wake , used it to smash through a plate glass store front and then stole the ATM , placing it inside the enclosed U-Haul truck. At about 2:00 p.m. Sunday , the stolen truck was found in the north alley of the 1800 block of Ocotillo Drive. The remnants of the ATM were found inside the truck. The ATM had been dismantled and the cash box taken. There was no report on the amount of cash that  was involved. El Centro Police Investigators are asking that anyone with any information about the heist call them. The truck is being processed for evidence.
