El Centro Police have released more information about an armed robbery that occurred early Friday.

At about 1:50 a.m.,  police responded to a report of an armed robbery in progress at the Jack-In-The-Box restaurant on N. Cottonwood Circle.  A man , wielding a knife , demanded employees at the fast food restaurant put money in paper bags. The suspect was last seen on foot leaving in the direction of Chase Bank. El Centro Police officers , with assistance from the Imperial Police Department , located the suspect running through a dirt lot near Sonic. The suspect , identified as 30-year old Anthony Martinez , had attempted to get rid of the clothing and disguise he was using during the robbery. Numerous customers and employees were able to positively identify Martinez as the robber. He was booked into Imperial County Jail on Armed Robbery charges.
