(First Panels Installed in Calexico)…They are replacements panels at the border in Calexico.

It is a US Customs and Border Protection project in partnership with the US Army Corps of Engineers. They began panel installation of about 11 miles of new border wall system to replace dilapidated and outdated designs in Calexico. The project includes the construction of 30 foot tall steel bollards and technology improvements. The same type construction is also underway in Tecate. The projects were funded by the CBP’s 2018 Fiscal Year budget.
