The acting head of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection has submitted his resignation.

John P. Sanders sent out a message to the agency Thursday saying that July 5, 2019 would be his last day on the job. Sanders , and the agency , have been under fire for the treatment of migrant children at a Texas station. The White House has named Mark Morgan , Acting head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement ( ICE ) to serve as acting head of Customs and Border Protection.
