(Air Pollution)…Very High Levels of PM 2.5.

The Air Pollution Control District said Air Quality in Mexicali was reported as Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups. Monday morning, levels of PM 2.5 increased in Calexico. Air Quality reached the same Unhealthy level as Mexicali. By 10:00 am Monday the particulate levels lowered in both Calexico and Mexicali and air quality was reported as Moderate. However, levels of PM 2.5 increased in El Centro. At 11:00 am air quality in El Centro was reported as Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups. Those groups are people with respiratory or heart disease, the elderly and children. It is recommended those in the Sensitive Groups remain indoors as much as possible until the Particulate Matter levels decrease.
