(Hours of operation to change)…Effective Monday, June 3rd.
Customs and Border Protection says the adjustments will be at the Calexico East Port of Entry. They said for over a decade, the Calexico East Port has opened at 3:00 am on weekdays to offer another option for travelers who would otherwise cross into the United States in the early morning hours through the Downtown Port. They say statistics have shown that there is not enough commuter traffic during the early timeframe to justify the extended early morning hours and increased operating costs. That prompted the decision to adjust the hours of operation. Beginning Monday the passenger vehicle lanes and READY lanes will be open from 6:00 am to midnight, 7 days a week. The SENTRI and Pedestrian lanes will be open from 6:00 am until 10:00 pm.
