An Assistant Professor of Public Administration at San Diego State University Imperial Valley has been named a United Nations consultant.
Dr. David Jancsics will spend his summer break in Europe helping develop a large-scale research project led by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime that will measure and assess the extent of cross-border organized crime and corruption in the Western Balkans. Dr. Jancsics said that he will contribute to an analytical report and visit several locations in Europe including Budapest , Vienna and some countries in the Balkans Peninsula. He said he thinks the main findings will be presented to the European Commission at a project closing event in Brussels in December.
Dr. Jancsics is currently conducting research on border-related corruption along the U.S. - Mexican border with support from the SDSU IV Borderlands Institute.
