(Board of Supervisors approve MOU)…It is with the Imperial Community College District.
The Memorandum of Understanding was approved Tuesday. It concerns growing and cultivation of industrial hemp for educational research. In April the District adopted a groundbreaking research project with an Imperial County hemp grower, through an Academic Data Collection Agreement. The project complies with the 2018 and 2014 Farm Bill. For its contribution, the County proposes to provide ICCD services such as assisting with site checks, zoning and planning compliance, agricultural compliance, air pollution control compliance and environmental health compliance. The Imperial Irrigation District said water would be provided for research purposes. The MOU is now pending approval by the ICCD Board of Trustees.
