(The Public Safety Facility in Winterhaven)…It is done and just about ready to open.
The Grand Opening will be held next week. The new facility will house the Imperial County Fire and Sheriff Substations. It replaces the outdated leased facility that currently services the Winterhaven area. The new facility was partially funded by the California Department of Housing and Community Development, through its Community Development Block Grant Program, The United States Department of Agriculture and the County of Imperial. Speaking at the Grand Opening Ceremony May 8th will be County Board of Supervisors Chairman and District 4 Supervisor Ryan Kelley, District 1 Supervisor Jesus Eduardo Escobar, Sheriff Raymond Loera, County Fire Chief Alfredo Estrada, Kim Van, State Director of the US Department of Agriculture Rural Development, and Nicole McCay of the California Department of Housing and Community Development. The ceremony will be held at the new facility 518 Railroad Avenue in Winterhaven starting at 9:30 am.
