(Imperial County Deputy District Attorneys Association issue a statement)…It was issued Thursday.
It says the Association is ready to strike. They say the Association will begin an Unfair Labor Practice strike 72 hours from Thursday. The Attorney’s recently participated in a sick-out, in which all 15 of the attorneys in the District Attorney’s Office called in sick. In their statement they say the county is not negotiating in good faith. They say the blanket 2.2 % wage increase offered all of the county employees is not enough. They say they need an adequate salary to enable them to recruit new attorneys. They have said their office was shot 5 positions, and the rest are carrying the current load. In response, the county says they are concerned with the possibility of a strike. Chairman of the Board of Supervisor Ryan Kelley says they are still open for dialogue to address the concerns.
