(Woman arrested at Tecate Port)….It happened earlier this week.
The 59 year old La Puente resident drove into the Port driving an SUV. She was referred to the secondary inspection area. In secondary a Customs and Border Protection Canine Team alerted to the vehicle. Officers used a density meter and scanned the vehicle through the Port’s imaging system. It revealed anomalies in all four tires. The tires were removed and CBP officers discovered a metal casing on each wheel. Each casing held packages inside. A total of 24 packages tested positive for methamphetamine, with a street value of $323,000. The woman was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations and then transported to Las Colinas Detention Center. The vehicle and narcotics were seized by Customs and Border Protection.
