(Funding for a Border Wall is still up in the air)…The Federal Government is in a partial shut-down over that funding.
The President says he will not sign a new funding bill until funding for the new wall is included. In the meantime, The federal government does have money to repair the existing border fence. Officials say almost $300 million is being made available to build fencing in the San Diego and Imperial County Border areas. 11 miles of new bollard type fencing is planned for the Calexico Border area. That construction will begin in July. 14 miles of secondary barrier will be constructed in the San Diego area, beginning in February. New fencing is also planned near the Tecate border crossing.
