(Public Workshop on the DCP)…It will be held Tuesday afternoon.
The Imperial Irrigation District Board of Directors will hold the workshop following their regular meeting October 9th, to discuss the Drought Contingency Plan process, upper and lower basin proposals and a framework to enable California’s participation in the DCP. Ongoing drought on the Colorado River has led to a decline in the elevation of Lake Mead. Faced with the possibility of curtailments as early as 2020, the Secretary of the Interior has reignited drought contingency talks and is calling on river contractors to resume efforts to adopt a drought Contingency Plan. The workshop begins at 4:00 pm and will be held in Condit Auditorium on Broadway in El Centro.
