(Mental Competency hearing)…It is expected to wrap up next week.

All that is left is closing arguments from the attorneys. It will then be up to the jurors to decide if Ioan Laurint is mentally competent to stand trial for the murder of Attorney Anne Marie Zimmerman. The jury, for almost two weeks, has heard testimony from the defense trying to prove Laurint is not mentally stable enough to assist in his own defense, and the prosecution presenting evidence Laurint is faking, in an attempt to stop the trial. The final testimony was presented Tuesday. The Courts are closed Friday and Monday. Closing arguments are expected next Tuesday. The jury will be given the case as soon as those closing arguments are presented.
