U.S. Border Patrol agents rescued a 17-year old girl left behind by a smuggler.

According to the Border Patrol , agents on patrol saw two individuals walking north near Anza and Bowker Roads east of Calexico. It was determined that the two , Mexican citizens ,  were in the United States illegally. The pair told agents that they had jumped the border fence with a third person but that person was left behind because she was hurt and couldn't continue. Agents back-tracked the two and located a young woman face down near the border. The 17-year old was found to be drifting in and out of consciousness and showed signs of fatigue , heat exhaustion , active bleeding and a fracture of her lower left leg. The woman was treated by Border Patrol agents trained as EMT's as well as local firefighters and paramedics. She was transported to a local hospital for further treatment.
