(West Fire is not fully contained, yet)….The Monday morning report indicated the fire was 92 percent contained.

The fire in Alpine was first reported July 6th. It has burned 505 acres, destroying 34 homes, one business and 21 accessory buildings such as barns and sheds. Officials say firefighters are mopping up hot spots and preventing any flare-ups that may occur. All evacuations have been lifted and all roads are now open. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
