Actually , they never went away.
Scammers are once again contacting Imperial valley residents and telling them that they are behind on payment to the Imperial Irrigation District. The caller than tells the business or homeowner that they will shut off their electricity if they don't make an immediate payment. Most of the time , the caller will demand money or a pre-paid debit card. Sometimes they even will give you time to wire them the money. It's a scam. The IID will not call you and threaten to cut off your power.. Ignore the bogus calls and report the incident to your local police department. For some tips and helpful information you can visit the IID website.
