The National Weather Service has extended an Excessive Heat Warning to include the Imperial Valley.
The weather service says that high temperatures will be in the 110 - 115 degree range on Wednesday , June 13, 2018. Portions of Imperial and Riverside Counties in California and Yuma and La Paz Counties in Arizona are expected to experience the high temperatures through about 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. Residents are warned to be aware of the possibility of an increase in heat related illnesses for people exercising or working outside as well as vulnerable populations without access to adequate air conditioning. You are urged to keep an eye on elderly neighbors and others without adequate resources. The Imperial County Health Department website has a list of cool zones that people may use for relief from the heat.
