(County Senior Nutrition Program needs money)….There is currently a shortfall of over $27,000.
Rosie Blankenship, Director of the Area Agency on Aging, told the Board of Supervisors Tuesday the funds are needed by July 1st, or a number of seniors would be cut from the program. County Executive Officer Tony Rouhotas said the budget process was underway. He said they will do everything they can to cover the shortfall in the new budget. The CEO said he would be working with Blankenship and she would know if the funds would be included by July 1st. In the meantime, Blankenship is working on possible grants that would cover the needed funds, if they are approved.
