(A Computer alert)…It was issued by the State Attorney General’s office.

The Alert is for California Companies. It warns of a possible Malware attack impacting thousands of computer users. The Attorney Generals office was working with the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services when the uncovered more than 2,00 computers and other electronic devices infected by malicious software, or Malware. The AG announced that the California Department of Justice sent letters to communication service providers encouraging companies to inform customers with identified internal protocol addresses that their devices may contain the malware. The finding stems from a cyberattack that occurred in March of this year. Malware attacks involve the installation of unwelcome software without the users consent. The impacted devices receive and obey commands from an outside source.
