(Border Patrol welcomes the National Guard)…National Guard troops are coming to the California/Mexico Border.

The President asked Border States to allow National Guard troops to assist the U.S. Border Patrol in their daily efforts. California Governor Jerry Brown agreed to send troops to the border, as long as they were not involved in arrests. The National Guard Troops in California are to assist in the investigation and deterrent to human smuggling and human trafficking, as well as narcotics violations. Monday El Centro Sector Chief Patrol Agent Gloria Chavez will hold a press conference welcoming the National Guard to the border. It is not known how long the troops will remain on the international border.
