Swarms of hunters are expected for the 2026 Dove Season.

The season opens on Tuesday, September 1st. Imperial County is considered one of the premier destinations for the hunt. Hunters are reminded that they must possess a valid California Hunting License and an Upland Game Bird Validation. Only non-lead ammunition is permitted. Shotguns must be plugged to hold a maximum of 3 shells. You must leave one fully-feathered wing or the head attached to transport birds. Daily limit for white-winged and mourning doves is 15 birds with a maximum of 10 white-winged. There is no daily or possession limit of Eurasian Collared-Doves. Hunting begins at 30 minutes before sunrise and ends at sunset.
