A Civil Lawsuit filed against Comite Civico del Valle (CCV) and its CEO, Luis Olmeda, has been dismissed.

The lawsuit was filed by Imperial Valley Computer Manufacturing, LLC (IVCM) and Sebastian Rucci. Previously, IVCM and Rucci saw a lawsuit against a KPBS reported kicked out of court. Imperial County Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Jones ruled in favor of CCV and Olmeda after determining that the lawsuit arose from protected speech on a matter of public interest. The court found that the Plaintiffs presented no admissible evidence supporting their allegations that CCV and Olmeda directed and orchestrated a defamatory campaign against the proposed Imperial Valley AI Data Center project.
