One man is dead and another in stable condition as a result of an early Sunday shooting.

Shortly after midnight Sunday morning, Riverside County Sheriff's deputies responded to a residence in the 98-000 block of Surfside Avenue in North Shore after a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. North Shore is an unincorporated area ,just across the Imperial County line, in Riverside County. Deputies located two adult men with gunshot wounds. Alberto Padron, 44, of Mecca, was pronounced dead at the scene, the second victim, a 43-years-old man, was transported to a hospital and is reported in stable condition. The Riverside Sheriff's Central Homicide Unit is handling the investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
