There is an alarming increase in vehicle thefts in Southern California.

The El Centro Police Department says that many of the thefts involve certain push-to-start vehicles. According to ECPD, 2019 - current Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pick-ups, 2018 - current Honda Civic, 2018 - current Honda accord, and 2018 - current Jeep Wrangler and Gladiators are frequent targets of thieves. If you own one of these vehicles, it's suggested you take extra precautions. Park in well-lit areas. Always lock your car. Report any suspicious activity to law enforcement. You may also want to consider using additional anti-theft devices such as a steering wheel lock, kill switch or immobilizer and a secondary GPS tracking system.
