The California State Assembly District 36 race will go to the November General Election.

With the results from the June 2, 2026, Primary Election nearing certification, incumbent Republican Jeff Gonzales has 44.6% percent of the vote and Democrat challenger Ida Obeso-Martinez, City of Imperial Mayor Pro tem, has 24.1% of the total votes forcing the runoff.t

United States Representative Dr. Raul Ruiz has won reelection in the District 25 race with 60% of the vote.

California State Senate District 18 incumbent Steve Padilla with 63% of the vote was reelected.
