The Imperial County Elections Department has issued updated numbers for the Primary Election.

County workers are processing paper ballots from the official ballot drop boxes as well other ballots that require review. As of 5:00 p.m. Wednesday 12,330 balls have been counted. 

Superior Court Judge Seat 1 Ben Salorio has 6,124 votes to 5,428 for Veronica Henderson.

Board of Supervisors District 1 shows Enrique Alvarado with 1,089, Jesus Eduardo Escobar 597, Joong Kim 507. 

Boars of Supervisors District 5 shows John Hall with 1,009 votes, Patricia Lizarrago 662, Lorena Minor-Montes 522.

Assessor Robert Menvielle leads with 5,976 votes to 5,611 for Ricardo Avila.

IID District 1 shows Alex Cardenas with 1,434 votes to 770 for Carlos Duran.

IID District 5 has 1,539 for Karin Eugenio and 1,043 for Eric Rodriguez.

In races that cover more than Imperial County the numbers reflect votes from all counties.

State assembly District 36 Jeff Gonzales leads with 20,262 votes. Ida Obeso-Martinez has 10,146, Oscar Ortiz 8,976 and Tomas Oliva 3,909

State Senate District 18 sees Steve Padilla with 7,296 votes to 4,547 for Art Hodges.

Updates are expected after 5:00 p.m. daily until the canvassing process is complete.
