(A Fatal injury collision occurred Monday evening)....The California Highway Patrol says it was a two-vehicle collision at Highway 86 and Norm Niver Road.
At 8:27 pm a 25-year-old woman was driving a 2016 Honda eastbound on Norm Niver Road, approaching the intersection with Highway 86. The Honda ignored the stop sign and drove onto the Highway, directly in the path of a Southbound Kia. The Kia was traveling at an estimated 70 miles per hour. The Kia broadsided the left side of the Honda. A 50-year-old male passenger in the Honda was ejected, suffering fatal injuries. He was pronounced at the scene. The driver of the Honda and a 22-year-old female passenger suffered major injuries and were transported to Desert Regional Medical Center. The 41-year-old Male driver of the Kia suffered moderate injuries but said he would seek his own treatment. The drivers of both vehicles were wearing their seat belts. The passengers in the Honda were not. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
