U. S.Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers stopped over 3,000 pounds of methamphetamine at the Otay Mesa Commercial Facility.

On April 14, 2026, CBP officers referred a tractor trailer rig for secondary inspection. A non-intrusive inspection revealed anomalies in the railer's front wall.A CBP K-9 team alerted to the same area. An inspection by officers found 300 packages hidden in the trailer. The methamphetamine n the packages weighed over 3,000 pounds and has a street value of over $4.9 million.
