A pedestrian was fatally injured Tuesday night in El Centro.

At about 9:00 p.m. El Centro Police officers responded to the area of East Main Street and Fairfield Drive following a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian accident. An unresponsive man was found in the roadway at the scene. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was not injured and is cooperating with investigators. According to police, there is no indication that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident.
