Twelve residents were displaced by a Friday afternoon fire in Yuma.
City of Yuma Fire responded to the report of the fire at about 2:00 p.m. Friday afternoon. The report indicated that a two-story apartment building in the 2400 block of S. 7th Avenue was burning. As crews worked to control the fire from the outside, a crew went inside the building to evaluate conditions. They determined that the second floor of the building had been structurally compromised. It took several hours for firefighters to bring the blaze under control. One firefighter was treated at the scene for overexertion. No one else was injured. The American Red Cross assisted the 12 residents that were displaced by the fire. Cause of the fire remains under investigation.
