The City of El Centro will kick-off their Mardi Gras Celebration Thursday.

The city will host the coronation of the King and Queen of this year's Parade and Street Festival. Jaime Honold and Viviana Honold will be crowned in a ceremony at the City Hall Courtyard. The celebration starts at 5:00 p.m. and is expected to last until 8:00 p.m. The newly crowned couple will reign over the Mardi Gras 2026 Parade and Street Festiva that will be held in downtown El Centro on Saturday. The celebration starts at 5:00 p.m. and the parade will step off at 6:00 p.m. Festivities continue with music, dancing, beads and fun until 9:00 p.m.
