Two people were injured in a Monday morning accident.
According to the Yuma County Sheriff's Office, the accident occurred at about 6:30 a.m. Monday on East County 18 1/2 Street and South Avenue 3E. Deputies determined that two people were standing near their parked vehicles, along the south side of the road, when a pick-up truck that was westbound on County 18 1/2, veered into the eastbound lanes and collided with the two parked vehicles. Both individuals that were standing by their vehicles were struck in the collision. The driver of the truck left the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. The victims, a 28-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man, were flown to a phoenix area hospital with serious injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
