(Brawley Police respond to a domestic Vvolence report)....At around 8:30 Thursday morning a 911 text was received by the Brawley dispatch center.

The message reported a possible domestic violence incident involving a firearm. It was reportedly in an apartment complex at 402 South Eastern Avenue. Police arrived at the scene and spoke with a man and a woman about the report. Police placed the male under arrest., During a subsequent search of the suspect's apartment, the Brawley PD K-9 alerted to the bathroom of the apartment. Inside Officers found a suspected explosive device. The surrounding residents were evacuated, and Brawley Fire and the Imperial County Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team were called in. The County Team disarmed the device and declared the area safe. The evacuation was lifted and closed off roads were reopened.
