A load of cocaine was stopped at the Calexico East Port of Entry Commercial Facility.
On September 17, 2025, U. S. Customs and Border Protection officers referred a tractor trailer rig, a car hauler, to secondary inspection. The driver of the big rig had told officers he was heading to Pomona to pick up vehicles to take back to Mexicali. The vehicle underwent a nonintrusive inspection using x-ray technology. CBP officers were alerted to a number of anomalies in the car hauler and using advanced imaging technology, a K-9 alert, and physical inspection, they uncovered 70 packages of cocaine with a total weight of over 185 pounds. The driver was taken into custody and faces federal prosecution.
