An additional 10 mies of Border Wall is planned for the Southern California international boundary.

The Trump administration has announced plans to build the new barriers in the area of the Otay Mesa port of entry and the Tecate port. The plans were announced last week when U. S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem waived several environmental laws to start the project. In addition to the new border barriers there will be improvements to roadways as well as surveillance equipment along existing structures. Funding for the project was included in H.R. 1, the so-callled One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
