(Strike Team leaves for Riverside County)....Imperial County has sent a Strike Team to the Rosa Fire Wednesday..

Calexico Fire sent a Type 3 Brush Engine, along with units from Holtville and Imperial County Fire. They left Wednesday morning. At last report, the Rosa Fire started on August 4th. Since then it has burned 1,690 acres. Cal Fire says it is 25% contained. The fire is located off Highway 74, in the Mountain Center Community. Evacuation orders have been issued, as well as evacuation warnings. According to the Thursday Morning update, crews continue to make good progress in strengthening containment lines. Crews are hampered by steep terrain, allowing for limited access for ground crews and heavy equipment. There are currently over 1,000 personnel assisting. Numerous firefighting air tankers from throughout the state are flying suppression missions as conditions allow. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
