(Imperial County Behavioral Health Services)....They recently announced they have officially received accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.
It is to establish a Psychiatry Residency Program. This achievement follows a two year collaborative effort with the University of California, San Diego. It was made possible by a $2,5 million grant awarded in January 2023 by the California Department of Health Care Access and Information. Leticia Plancarte-Garcia, Director of Behavioral Health Services, This is a significant milestone for her department and Imperial County as a whole. She says it marks a moment of progress and partnership. The Director said by investing in the education and development of future psychiatrists, they are also investing in the long-term health and well-being of the community.
