New, local, bookstore will host a Night of Poetry.

After Hours Bookstore and Colibri Writers will present a Night of Poetry Saturday, June 7, at the new bookstore, 623 Main Street in El Centro. Colbri Writers will read their work about food, family and culture. Colibri Writers is a mentorship program for Latina writers through a non-profit, Glassless minds, created by Imperial Valley native Karla Cordero. Cordero grew up in Calexico and now teaches college English in San Diego. Saturday's presentation will include writers from San Diego and the Imperial Valley. The Night of Poetry opens at 5:00 p.m. and is free.
