Innercare has received initial accreditation as a Sponsoring Institution.
The accreditation, from Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), clears the way for Innercare to officially launch it's Family Medicaine Residency program that is expected the address the region's pressing healthcare workforce needs. The residency is designed to combat California's critical shortage of primary care providers, particularly in the imperial and Coachella Valleys. Once fully implemented, the program will train 24 residents, including a rural training track and a mental health pathway to address gaps in obstetrical and primary care. The Family Medicine Residency Program is part of the Eastern Riverside and Imperial County Collaborative; a regional initiative co-led by Innercare to expand graduate medical education infrastructure and reduce health disparities through strategic cross-sector partnerships. The program will provide immersive hands-on learning experiences in both rural and urban underserved settings. The partners in the program include Imperial Valley Healthcare District, DAP Health, and Eisenhower Health as well as Innercare.
