Monday night, El Centro Police conducted a traffic stop near 10th and Park Avenue.

Officers were responding to the report of a disturbance in the 1000 block of Broadway. All occupants of the SUV were detained, and K-9 Officer Jax alerted to the presence of contraband in the vehicle. A search located a loaded 9mm Beretta APX A1 with a threaded barrel and three high-capacity magazines. Investigation revealed that one of the two detainees had made criminal threats toward a juvenile. Both suspects were arrested with one being booked at Imperial County Jail and the other at Imperial County Juvenile Hall.
